the other day one of the kids at Park Place (the group home) was listening to a band called Flyleaf. I've gotten into them, they're pretty cool.
we had a crisis at work the other day and I was able to de-escalate the kid. I pride myself in being about talk people down when they're upset (most people anyway). The kids think I'm cool and they trust me because I listen to them and help them with whatever they need. one of the girls has a low self esteem and I'm working with her on how to make it better. she said she's never had help or support from anybody before. the only crappy thing is that these kids are only with us for a short time--up to 90 days, so to even attempt to help them has to be somewhat intense. either way, I love it.
Gil has worms....Spizzy has a cold. its kinda humorous (but not really) when ferrets have colds, when they sneeze their whole bodies shake. As for Gil. I know nothing about worms or how cats get them, but he has a vet appointment for tuesday.
michelle and I arent seeing eye to eye with things right now. its frustrating a bit, but it'll blow over and we'll be cool again. I can be a jerk sometimes though, so I'm glad she has been able to put up with me for so long.
