tonight at work (park place) was pretty humorous. there were two incidences that happened tonight. the first one; we have an 8 year old who likes to run in the house and we tell her all the time she's going to slip and get hurt. well, she was excited to take a bath tonight so she decided to run from the kitchen to the bathroom, but because of the carpet, she slipped and fell, hitting her head/face on the door jam. it was kind of humorous--but I have a morbid sense of humor as it is since I laugh at inappropriate times. She has glasses, and she hit the wall so hard that there was paint covering the whole left lens. and she was crying (of course, duh) and she was seeing eight of me and she couldnt walk because she was so dizzy. and becuase she was crying and that she smacked her face, her tears were red, but I didnt want to tell her that she was sort of crying blood because that would have just panicked her even more. I was able to get her to lay on the couch and put an ice pack on her face and she said that she no longer saw eight of me, just 2. I couldnt not giggle the whole time of this incident because of how it went down. after a while the blood cleared up and she stopped crying and calmed down. she's going to have two black eyes tomorrow and her mom is going to come visit, her mom already thinks I'm a weirdo cuz the other day when the 8 year old was putting her feet in "my space" then I would write on her with my pen. fun times. she stopped putting her feet in my space so she learned something. haha, and tonight, she learned not to run, especially on carpet when trying to turn into another room. I love that kid.
The other incident tonight; the plan was to make popcorn and watch a movie with the kids who didnt have to go to bed until later. However, one of the staffer's didnt know that the microwave was on the fritz so she put the popcorn in for the designated time. not even more than a minute later, smoke started billowing out! not like just white smoke or whatever, but thick heavy gray smoke! I practically jumped over the kitchen table to get to the popcorn since it caught on fire, I grabbed the bag and threw it outside (where, as I found out later, it singed the deck) and then went back and started helping the other staffers (and two kids) trying to get the smoke under control! it was soooo funny. IMAGE: two kids running around the kitchen trying to find something to cover their faces as they tried to keep the smoke away from them as they waved their hands above them frantically as if they are trying to keep bugs away, and three staffers standing under each of the fire alarms as they are going off trying to keep the smoke away and yelling at each other over the alarm and trying to tell the kids to get outside also. It was just a funny situation, I dont know how else to put it. probably needless to say, the movie never got watched. 3 firetrucks and a police car later......haha
